A Pagosa Springs Surprise

Writer: Kelly MillerKelly Miller

Boasting the deepest natural hot springs in the world, Pagosa Springs, Colorado is a delightful surprise. From the minute we rounded the corner into this adorable town we were mesmerized by the snow cap mountains backdrop and the beautiful river running through the town.

This section of the San Juan river is flanked on one side by the Hot Springs resorts and on the other side by a quaint Downtown Main Street shopping district.

We recommend a stop at The Root Coffee Shop. The baked goods are homemade and we tried the lemon blueberry crumble top muffin as well as the sausage biscuit ball. Both were warm and delicious. You can also enjoy your favorite hot, cold or alcoholic beverages inside the comfortable coffee shop or outside on the covered porch.

Although this was just a quick stop as we drove from one state park to another, we are marking this on our map as a place to come back and spend more time.
