We spent a month at Southern Oaks RV Resort in Aransas Pass, TX and loved it! For winter, 2023 we decided that we wanted to save money and take advatage of a monthly rental price. At $575, we couldn't have been happier with our choice of spots. When you book monthly, most RV Resorts and Parks also charge electric. This charge is somewhat regulated by what your state is allowing for a per KwH charge. In Texas at Southern Oaks, we were at .12 per KwH. This is some of the lowest electricicity charge we have ever seen.
The sites are spacious, long, and have concrete pads and a picnic table. The roads are wide and easy to navigate. Our 5th Wheel is 43' long and we were easily able to fit into our back in spot.
Just a short drive from the beach at Port Aransas and the city of Corpus Christi, Southern Oaks offers moderate winter temperatures and beautiful scenery. While at Southern Oaks, we also took some time to explore Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
We also enjoyed the full schedule of activities that Southern Oaks has to offer. The residents and visitors get together at the clubhouse regularly for things like poker night, card bingo, music, dancing, and puzzels. There is a wonderful take one leave one library of books as well.
Other amenities include a pickleball court, playground, pool, and dog park with agility training equipment. The resort also regularly invites the local food trucks- and we love a great food truck!
