Traveling on Points

In 2003 I took a regular 9-5 job. Within a year that job turned into an opportunity for me to travel while working. I would fly to CA, WA, OR and TX regularly to work. During that time, I was able to use my weekends for personal travel in the area and really got comfortable with working while on the road.

My boss at the time particularly liked Delta Airlines and Marriott hotel chains. When I booked our travel I would use our rewards numbers and those points began to accumulate. During my time with that company, I used my airline points to take a vacation to NYC and another one to South Beach, Miami. My Marriott points gave me free hotel nights right on the beach.

When my time with that company came to an end I still had a ton of points available to me.

Over the years I’ve continued to accumulate points for airlines, hotels, and cruise lines. I’ve used those points to take us to Greece,Turkey, Europe, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Australia, the Caribbean, the South Pacific and several US trips. We’ve cruised with our kids multiple times for FREE!! When my daughter turned 16 she and I travelled to Italy using points for both the flights and hotels during our stay.

We still accumulate and use points, most recently to help fly our kids to see us.

We highly recommend getting into the points game and using it toward your own dreams and goals.

Here is a referral code for Delta American Express for 70,000 bonus points! To put that in perspective, we've traveled to Europe several times for only 60,000 points each! To fly my kids across the country to visit us on the road is only 25,000 points! (obviously this depends on cities and dates, etc.)

Apply for an American Express Card with this link. We can both get rewarded if you're approved! http://refer.amex.us/KELLYMeSB6?xl=cp19
