Spearfish to Deadwood

The Black Hills of South Dakota are a beautiful mountain range that extends from Western South Dakots into Eastern Wyoming. These mountains are beautiful in that the tend to be more like cliffs extending into the sky. We spent some time exploring the Custer area earlier in the summer of 2022 and on our way back across the country we were blessed with Autumn foilage as we made our way through Spearfish.

We did 2 days of short road trip driving during our weekend at Spearfish. The first day we started on the Spearfish Canyon Highway. We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls and were rewarded with mountain goats wandering along the cliffside. We continued on, stopping often to search for fish along Spearfish Creek. At Savoy, we vontinued on towards Deadwood.

Deadwood is a fun wild west tourist town. While in Deadwood make sure and see the spots where Wild Bill Hickok was shot in 1876.
