Port Isable Marina and RV Park

Port Isabel, located right across the bridge from South Padre Island in Southern Texas, is a wonderful winter escape. Boasting moderate temperatures and ocean and marina views, we couldn't ask for a better spot to relax. We happened upon Port Isabel Marina and RV Park and were very happy with Lot 90A in the park. Most of this RV park is older and it has quite a few long term tenants. However, they are updating the small park and working on trasforming it into a winter vacation spot. Our lot backed directly up to the marina and so we put our outdoor rug out the back of the camper in order to get the best views. In the evening, the dolphins would swim in and give us a show.

South Padre itself is a lot of fun with plenty of restaurants and shops. We recommend a drive down on the beach in search of UFO beach. We also visited the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center. If you park at the convention center you can walk the Laguna Madre Nature Trail, a free portion of the boardwalk and see a variety of birds. Many people enjoy driving on the beach and setting up their fishing poles for a day of relaxation.

A short drive from Port Isabel is Boca Chica and the Sapce X Launch Facility. This is a fun drive by and the beach in that area is also nice.

We really enjoyed our time at Port Isabel and booked our spot again for next year.
