Bryce Canyon National Park

Hoodoos Galore!

Bryce Canyon National Park is a beautiful array of hoodoos. As with the rest of the “Mighty Five”, Bryce Canyon’s geology is breathtaking. Hoodoos are formed by erosion. In Bryce you can see Hoodoo Formations, Hoodoo Windows and fully formed Hoodoos.

We recommend that you start in Bryce by driving to the end of the park first. Here you can take the Bristlecone Loop Trail Hike, which is an easy one mile hike. From there you can drive back towards the Bryce Ampitheater section of the park. There are 18 different overlooks along the drive so be sure to stop frequently to check out the changing scenery. Back in the Ampitheater section of the park, there are several popular hikes. The rim trail between Sunrise and Sunset points is an easy walk and you can take your dog on these paved surfaces.

We also recommend the Queen’s Garden to Navajo Loop combo hike. This is just under 3 miles total and offers some of the best views of the park including the famous Wallstreet.

Don’t miss out on the Mossy Cave Trail which is located 4 miles down Hwy 12 towards Escalante. At only .4 miles out and .4 miles back, this is a super easy trail to hike. This riverside hike rewards you with a gorgeous waterfall at the end. You can even hike up, over and around the waterfall.

We loved Bryce Canyon and consider it a worthy addition to the Mighty 5!
