Glacier National Park- Two Medicine

Exploring the Two Medicine Part of the Park

I love driving into the Two Medicine section of Glacier National Park. We accessed this area via Hwy 49 and we gained elevation for some amazing aerial views of the glaciers and Two Medicine Lake. Down by the lake and along the river there are some amazing camping opportunities for tent or small rv campers.

At the end of the road is the general store and lakefront with boat rentals. This is also the trailhead for Astor Falls, a nice 2.6 mile round trip hike. When we reached the falls, Jonathan climbed the side trail up to the top and I sat at the bottom with my feet in the ice cold water. The water comes down through a narrow chute in the rocks before hitting a big boulder at the bottom and splitting making for a dramatic affect.

Running Eagle waterfall is also known as Trick Falls because it comes out of nowhere through what appears to be a giant gaping hole in the cliff. Spilling into what can only be described as an olympic size swimming hole of blue green water before making its way into the shallow, pebbled creek bed.
