Fish Creek Falls

One of My Favorite Raging Waterfalls

Fish Creek Falls is a breathtaking 280 foot waterfall. Located right outside of Steamboat Springs, CO, this waterfall is accessible by multiple easy paths. There is a $5 fee but we were able to get in at no additional cost with our National Parks Pass.

We first took the paved and accessible path approximately 1/3 of a mile to the falls overlook. This is an amazing view of the waterfalls and the raging river below.

Next we walked the 1/4 mile dirt path down to the bottom of the falls right next to the river. This hike was downill and super easy. The views of these falls from the bottom with the water crashing and raging down the river is breathtaking. The 1/4 mile hike back up to the parking lot was uphill but still fairly easy due to the short distance.

There is also a 4.7 mile hike availabe up to the top of the falls. This is considered a very difficult hike since you gain over 1400 feet in elevation during the hike. We chose not to do this portion of the hike.

These falls are some of my favorite we have ever visited. We highly recommend this adventure.
