Rifle Falls State Park

An Easy Stroll To One of Our Favorite Waterfalls and Caves

When we first approached the waterfalls, we both immediately felt like we were back in Croatia at Plitvice Lakes National Park. The walk to the bottom of the falls is an easy, accessbile 1/3 of a mile. Jonathan was able to fish the East Rifle Creek at the bottom of the falls and the trout were easy to catch. After exploring and fishing the bottom of the falls, we took the 1/3 of a mile hike to the middle and top of the falls. These views are breathtaking and worth the effort of the climb. Next we hiked the 1/3 of a mile around the ponds and back down by the caves. We highly recommend that you bring your fishing pole to the ponds. Don't miss the caves- they are super fun to explore.
