Yampa River State Park
A quiet fishing oasis
For us, Yama River State Park was a perfect break between Provo, UT and The Rocky Mountains. We spent a week with Yampa River State Park as our home base. The park has plenty of spots for all size campers, a beautiful laundry and shower facility, and plenty of tent camping spots as well. There are even a few tee-pees with cots available to rent! There is electrivity at the sites and you can fill up with wate at the dump station.
While at Yampa RIver, we took a day trip to Steamboat Springs, about 30 minutes down the road. You can read about our hiking and foodie tour through Steamboat Springs here.
The closest town, Hayden, CO, offers a sweet farmers market on Thursday's and we can also recommend the Yampa Valley Brewing Company in Hayden.
We also took a day trip to Rifle Falls State Park. We highly recommend this detour.
Overall, Yampa River was a quiet stop on our RV camping adventure!
