Blue Spring State Park

Come See the Manatees

When the weather dips into the cooler temperatures, the Florida Manatees swim down the rivers and into the warmer 72 degree springs. We waited and visited this park on a particularly cool day and were rewarded with 398 manatees in the park. The boardwalk is a short .4 mile walk with plenty of viewing platforms. In the summer you can swim, tube, and snorkle in the spring but in the winter, to protect the manatees, all water activities are closed. There is also a 51 site campground for RVs up to 40 feet long.
